Who we support
Being Vietnamese expats in Europe, we are passionate in sharing the beauty and the traditions of the Vietnamese iwith our good friends and colleagues here. As a country with over a thousand year of history and currently 54 ethnicities present, Vietnamese culture cannot be wholely demonstrated by words but only through seeing, living, and feeling that you could experience completely its diversity. By complimenting products of day-to-day life with patterns and decorations traditionally found on Vietnamese ethnic clothes, we hope to bring the East and the West together
We work in close cooperation with a Belgian NGO Mekong Plus, we support underprivilege women artisans of the Mekong region of Vietnam and help them bring their handmade crafts to the world.
This social activities of Mekong Plus has become active since 2001 and started with only five female artisans and one passionate designer. Today, they work with more than ten work groups of artisans from 3 provinces of Vietnam and Cambodia producing sustainable crafts. With sustainable incomes from regular works, their family can secure better their livelihood and bring food to theirtable every day.
The artisans that we work with have committed to reuse materials from the local textile industry (e.g. ScanCom International) for their quilts. We also focus on sustainable materials for our other home décor products such as bamboo, rattan, water hyacinth, recycled paper, etc. These materials also reflect a key trait of the Southeast Asian agriculture culture and heritage.
